Need a Home?

Current Availability:
Our housing development, Cedrus, currently has no homes available; however, we are eager to form a waiting list of people to contact as the houses turn over. We are also considering the possibility of helping potential homeowners acquire existing homes on the island, so we would be glad to know if you are interested.

Our Process:
In order for LICLT to accept you as an eligible homeowner, you must meet certain qualifications:

• You must financially qualify to show your need for subsidized housing. Typically your family income must be 50%-80% of the median family income in Whatcom County (approx. $40,000/yr. in 1999, US Census Bureau).
• You must provide a credit report and have “repairable” credit. Debt and credit are factors in your qualifications.
• You cannot have owned a home within the last three years.
• You must fill out an application that includes such things as your previous housing history, your connection to Lummi Island, your employment background, and your commitment to LICLT’s mission of sustainable affordable housing. There is a $35.00 application fee.
• If you meet the above qualifications, you will be invited to a private interview.
• Once you are determined to be eligible, you will be placed on our waiting list.

We recognize that everyone has an individual story, and we make as much allowance for your personal situation as we can. Although we are bound by certain restrictions as much as any organization, our goal is to keep you from becoming just another number in a database.
